Bellesa Plus review

Launched in 2017, Bellesa Films (now Bellesa Plus) CEO (Michelle Shnaidman) had one goal in mind, to create content for women by women. After multiple contributions from angel investors, the site got to a great start. In a few months alone, they’ve hit four million views and kept expanding.

Then the shit hit the fan, and some pornstars accused the site of stealing their content without consent. Not sure what happened then, but Bellesa Films is now part of a massive adult brand that cleaned up woman’s mess and hit restart.

#2. Content Breakdown by Categories

Since categories include bonus sites and only videos since 2019 have Bellesa Films flavor, top categories are inaccurate. There are few erotic anal videos, and such a category isn’t even listed.

#3. First Impressions & User Navigation

I didn’t know what to expect from Bellesa Films at first, but after research and multiple trailers, this seemed like an interesting one to try.

User navigation follows Brazzers' logical layout with videos, bonus sites, and models at the top of a menu. The same goes for category thumbnails and scenes. You can already tell that it’s the same company. The thumbnails are of softcore nature and remind us of cult classics like VivThomas or X-Art, both of which this site directly competes with.

Slide that filthy mouse cursor over any thumbnail, and it will start playing the scene, trailer at least. Below each picture are performer names, number of views, and ratings. Pagination goes from 1st to 5th and then the last page. Since the content is limited, this approach works as the fifth page already loads videos from 2016.

At first, the confusion kicked in as I hit on the video's URL, and it showed me close to 300 scenes. That’s fine, however… Next time I hit on Bellesa Films specifically, and it was 10 times less. Where did these scenes go? The default filter loads all the videos, including bonus sites. Something to be aware of if you got confused too.

#3a. Content Filters

How does Bellesa Films stack up against competing adult sites? It’s a decent experience that works when the scene catalog isn’t massive. Still, I can find room for improvement, and I’ll just repeat the points that we mentioned already in additional, same adult network reviews.

You hit the models section, and it defaults to recently active, which is great. Since Bellesa Films is all about “porn for women,” male performers are listed too. Some filters I’ve found useless such as “sort by top-rated,” mostly because ten pages (18 actors per page) had a rating of 100%. That’s as helpful as sorting all 5* hotels by the number of stars.

There are only 16 categories, so scanning them takes just a few seconds. Each thumbnail represents a category, and it’s a great visual aid. Still, I was unsure why a category like “kissing” is needed. I could have used something like “anal” or “69” instead because that’s way more specific.

That said, you can hit the videos section and filter out the content by any tag or category. Start with that and then get specific with a date range, release date, or model name. Honestly, that’s how I recommend browsing through the site, scene filters instead of pre-selected categories.

#4. Video Player & Streaming Experience

For a site that only allows streaming, they sure as hell better have the best video player. Is that the case with Bellesa Films? No. I’m still searching for an ideal experience in this area, and no network has been perfect.

One of the most surprising aspects of Bellesa Films was their inability to bring some of the best Brazzers features to the mix. Since the same company owns both, we’d love to see a timeline and other features. Instead, this regular video player doesn’t even show a thumbnail as you mouse over a timeline.

Video player settings are the usual, with auto-quality streaming and speed options. It doesn’t matter what you pick, though, as these options do not save. In other words, refresh the page or open another video, and you’re back to regular speed, auto quality, and maximum volume by default. Whoever thought of that needs to be fired.

No one gets the volume controls right, and that’s the case with Bellesa Films. The slider is way too short to be used intuitively. Move the bar just slightly, and it’s already too loud or quiet.

Loading speeds were great for the site but not spectacular for streaming. In other words, seeking wasn’t instant and took 1-2 seconds to load a specific part of any video. I’m sure my connection is up to the task, especially when even 720p quality suffered from the same issues. Will that cause any issues for you? Only if you’re an absolute nitpicker and often skip through the video. That’s me.

To sum it up, this is a basic video player that’s featured on most sites. Not great, but not terrible either. Most people will be fine, especially less tech-savvy ones that don’t know about various features existence.

Let’s start with the running horse or selling point of any modern site, and that is Ultra Full HD. This is what we want, right? The crispy porn quality makes your brains melt. Since Bellesa Films seem to use softness filters of some sort, I’ve found 4K quality to be almost useless. You can see the comparison between 1080p, and it’s almost indistinguishable unless you focus on hairs and beards. Will I still switch to 4K while watching their videos? Absolutely. It’s about squeezing the most out of your buck.

As for video quality in general, it’s great and without visible pixelation. From what I’ve seen, they didn’t cut quality to make it streamer friendly enough to suffer from random noise artifacts or other issues. Honestly, it’s hard to screw up 1080p these days, and most networks don’t suffer from poor videos.

Lighting is not my favorite, but it helps to set up the mood. There are no overly bright scenes, and I’d go so far as to say that a special color gamma is used to make them look different from the mainstream porn sites. Just look at the sample content below. It’s the typical flavor of soft edges and colors.

Audio quality was hard to test since I couldn’t download their videos. Judging from trailers (that were 1080p), the audio bitrate was on the higher side and at around 200 kbps. Every video I’ve inspected had a difference of a few kbps hence the approximate number.

#6. Porn Content & Performers

Let’s get one thing out of the way, the number of videos is extremely limited if you don’t count bonus sites. There’s not much content to begin with, and if you want to be very specific with tags, chances are you’ll see just a few videos pop up after the filtering.

Now, let’s work with what we got and dive into the depths of sensual porn. Curse my gender since I’m male, and this is supposed to be content for women. I’ll try mixing my and my girlfriend’s opinions about the content.

I’ll focus on Bellesa Films' bread and butter, and that’s porn for women uploaded since 2019. Trailers are a must-watch if you don’t want to stream every video. Like regular videos, scene intros feature the performer’s narration, setting the tone for sexual fantasy. Yes, the perspective is not limited to females, and some videos are narrated from a male standpoint. I’ve found such an approach be extremely helpful, immersive, and just what men and women want from erotica-focused sites. Some performers are better at reading and pronunciation than others. The acting is decently good and much better than expected.

Moving away from regular porn videos with broken pipe or pizza delivery scenarios, Bellesa Films director indulges you in fantasies of every kind. Examples include a male best friend, lovers that haven’t seen one another for ages, religious school secrets, obnoxious neighbors having sex behind thin walls, and the tattoo artist that goes to work on a horny teenager.

Afterward, things heat up, and that’s where the passionate sex begins. Some scenes are light and fun, with performers laughing, while others take things more seriously. Nice and slow for some while passionate and aggressive for others. Videos speak louder than words, and you’re better off with a collection of trailers. These have sound too.

There’s no music, and that’s great; it doesn’t ruin the intimate moment, allowing you to hear sloppy kissing, whispering, and neck bites. Actors are rarely silent. You can tell that these acts are some of the most intimate they’ve experienced in a porn shoot, be it lesbian or straight sex.

Since relaunching the site in the middle of 2019, there has been a new video upload every 7 days.

#6b. Porn Directors

Since Jul 29, 2019, Bellesa Films has received a new adult director and it’s one of the best, perfectly matching their “porn for women, by women” slogan. To be sure, I’ve checked multiple videos, and all of them were directed by Jacky St. James. A 40-plus-year-old publicist, screenwriter, and director best known for her work on New Sensations.

Her style is full of interesting ideas. This isn’t your hardcore adult site with scripts about broken car engines.

#6c. Pornstars

The number of pornstars below is a bit deceiving since it counts bonus sites. Except for a few ebony and Asian chicks, most pornstars are white, just like everywhere else. Unless it’s a webpage that solely focuses on exotic-looking women. I’ll focus on non-bonus videos.

Female pornstars are of average age and in their 20s or 30s. You can always find an exception, but that’s not the point. You can tell that a significant investment was made to secure some of the hottest names in the industry right now. Passionate lovers like Abella Danger, Riley Reid, or Valentina Nappi are on the set. Some appear more than once, and they perform great. I haven’t even seen some of these faces in a softcore porn setting. Boy, was I surprised to learn that they, too, have a soft side that’s oozing in passion?

Male pornstars are generally very good-looking, and Bellesa Films seem to favor them over masculine men with beards and scars if you know what I mean. They didn’t just sign a top-rated stud and call it quits. These males have features that work well in erotica films. You have more popular guys like Small Hands, Chat White, and Damon Dice, as well as others on rotation. There are no world’s biggest dick stars or hardcore famous performers.

Don’t expect any amateurs or people that haven’t been on a set once. I’d say that the porn director did an excellent job here. I couldn’t think of better names for the glamour setting.

#9. Conclusion

Let’s face it, serious money is in regular porn, not erotica or porn for women. So, seeing someone as fresh as Bellesa Films continuing their mission is admirable. Add a few hundred videos to the stack, and I’d have no trouble recommending this one. One of the genres you must experience at least once.

Still, check other glamor networks first and wait till the middle of 2020 when Bellesa content doubles or triples. That’s especially true if this is your first time joining such a porn site. There are many great producers in this area already and with many more scenes. I'll bump my score by 0.5 once it hits the 60 2160p videos mark.

Having said that, if trailers hook you up and other erotica sites don’t have the lasting flavor of Bellesa Films, signup for a month or two and get to experience these fantasies for real. There’s no point in spending money on a yearly membership just yet. Have fun.
