#1. About EroticAge
The site EroticAge.net is over ten years old and is one of the oldest and longest running vintage sites on the planet. Over the years, the look has changed in more ways than one, but the content remains the same, with more uploads to come.
#2. First Impressions
There was a recent design update with EroticAge, so it's now gone if you’ve been familiar with the tacky old look and dark background. While the logo remains the same, I think the previous design had some charm. Maybe it was due to me getting used to it, but that “old-school” feel gives you warm feelings of nostalgia. But having said that, the first impressions were awful with the previous build, and we’re glad to see EroticAge improve in this regard.
Instead of static, boring, and lifeless thumbnails, you get the “best” version of rotating thumbnails with everyone’s favorite pornstars. The same goes for friendly links and filters; before, it was a messy, all-over-the-place dump of random tags that not always worked. Now, this process was likely automated, and you can easily find scenes by categories, actresses, or other filters, and those do work. The only omission so far is the adult director, but maybe that will come with time. Personally, I always pick one of the decades instead of scanning tags by the adult director. That’s what search results are for, anyway.
#3. Content & User Experience
Instead of hosting content, EroticAge always relied on massive networks like PornHub.com or xHamster for their videos. Don’t confuse that with a re-hosting site because the folks at EroticAge do more to the tube than just dumping random videos. Instead, it’s like stumbling upon a dumpster with 5% gold and 95% trash. In other words, EroticAge filters out the garbage, leaving you with a manually moderated vintage porn site with only the good bits.
Are there disadvantages to this approach? Yes and no. It depends on your opinion about all those mega networks and their video players. Since the videos go from other sites, the media player experience will depend on those sites, sometimes including advertising. On the other hand, we’ve seen lousy adult sites with so many pop-ups and in-player banners that having a big brother who helps with "decent" over "too many" ads is also a plus. While xVideos.com isn’t known for its lack of ads, the media player is good, and the same goes for other media networks.
Does it mean that EroticAge has no advertising? No. You have a campsite advertising banner on the right side of the screen (or top if you’re on mobile), and that’s it. Okay, the homepage will ask you to take a free trial with Brazzers (which, as our review indicates, is awesome), but that’s a tiny text ad. I don’t think that many adult sites are as clean as EroticAge, and if they were to have a first-party streaming platform, it would be the best experience out there, seriously. Although, to be fair, I know many tubes that started with light ads only to become crowded over time. In this site’s defense, though, EroticAge has been running as long as I can remember.
#4. Conclusion
I love the simplicity of EroticAge with its fluffy design and newly introduced advanced features. With so many sorting options and thousands of vintage erotica uploads, I salute this site and go for round two.
