#1. About xTube
This free tube site belongs to the PornHub network, so you know there's abundant porn here. It's one of the least popular web pages on the network with a creation date of 2004 that, for some reason, has as many gay categories as regular porn.
#2. First Impressions
I was expecting a far better experience from the MindGeek / PornHub people and now understand why it hasn’t grown as popular as the other free offerings. The first impressions aren't the greatest, showing advertising placements all over your PC screen. Not just annoying ads on a sidebar, media player, in the middle of video listings, but the bottom too. These annoying sticky banners, they’re all here, and xTube is guilty of ruining your experience.
The design of xTube is fairly basic and doesn’t try to go that extra mile. Although around 50% of its layout is filled with ads, I don’t know if there’s even a thing called “design.” I was unlucky with my first video, which ruined my xTube network. The videos being watched on top have had a decent thumbnail that I clicked, leading me to XTube’s video player. So far, so good, right? The stream didn’t appear when my mouse registered a click. Oh, you’d think that there should be a video, right? Instead, xTube asked me to register or join some stupid site to unlock the content. Like, what the fuck is going on? Are we back to the era of clickbait?
#3. Content & User Experience
Site layout and features on xTube are pretty much standard compared to other tube sites, and everything loads quickly. Videos can be sorted based on views, ratings, comments, length, favorites, premium, and many categories. At first, you might think of xTube as a gay porn-focused website since the categories are loaded with nothing but gay-related niches. Let me name just a few! General gay, daddies, gay-bareback, gay fetish, amateur gay, etc. In total, I’ve counted 49 different themes just for homosexual videos.
There's a special community area, a section for amateurs with live cams (members only), some VOD and DVDs for VIP members. Visitors will also notice a few somewhat annoying pop-ups (inside a video player) and GIF banners.For unregistered users, quality is 180 to 480p, but if you want to fork over some cash to become a VIP member, you'll be able to watch HD and Full HD videos. On the other hand, downloads are free, but you have to sign-up as a free user. There's also a photo section, even though it's a mishmash of different things, which isn't so bad if you like to browse and explore.
Whatever you type into the search bar, there seem to be at least ten pages filled with results. It's obvious that xTube.com has a massive collection, but it will take more than that to impress me. One of the better things about any porn site with at least a million videos is that you can find scenes for limited audiences. Things like bisexuals, anal, BBW, voyeur, or BDSM don't sound too extreme, but 3D porn, anime, and obscure fantasies are where xTube shines. I mean, if turds could shine.
#4. Conclusion
With the PornHub network backing xTube, you should get free XXX videos that encompass a multitude of categories and every orientation. However, the overall quality and look and feel of xTube is as close to the poor-quality feel as the real thing.
